AST is a full-service environmental abatement provider. From inspection, to testing, through remediation, we offer the complete solution to your asbestos concerns. Having worked with many Fortune 500 companies, area school systems, government institutions, commercial building owners and hundreds of individual homeowners, when you call AST, you know you are calling the experts.

Inspection

Truth be told, when asbestos is in good condition, it's not an immediate risk. However, asbestos containing materials are dangerous when asbestos containing materials become 'friable', which is either broken pieces or when the material is disturbed or deteriorated to a stage when it can be broken by hand. The microscopic particles become airborne and can enter the lungs. The sheets become more brittle with age and exposed surfaces will weather and allow loose fibers to be exposed. For these reasons an inspection should be undertaken, not only to identify the presence of asbestos but also its condition and risks. Prior to renovation or demolition activities federal NESHP regulations require an asbestos inspection be performed to ensure asbestos containing materials are not disturbed. Please contact us if you are uncertain whether you are dealing with an asbestos issue, or if you are ready to schedule your inspection today.

Testing

Most asbestos fibers are invisible to the human eye because of their size; and typically, you can't tell whether a material contains asbestos simply by looking at it. For these reasons alone, asbestos testing is both a very important and necessary step in the process.

AST uses only NVLAP & AIHA Accredited Laboratories, and tests bulk samples, air and surface samples.

Please contact us for more information on our testing procedures, or to schedule an appointment with one of our trained professionals.

Remediation

Once your level of asbestos risk is determined, AST will provide you with a detailed plan of attack for either repair or removal. Repair usually involves either sealing or covering asbestos material.

Work areas are contained to separate the work environment from non-work areas, Negative air pressure machines draw air and contaminates from the contained area through High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters, and exhausts it to the outside.

Utilization of state-of-the art techniques including component removal, tested cleaning methods, and specialized products specifically designed for the mold abatement industry.

At AST, your safety is always our top priority. Therefore, removal of asbestos may require a section of your building or facility to be sealed off, or enclosed. Negative air pressure machines with HEPA filtration will pull fresh air in as to not allow asbestos fibers into the surrounding environment. After removal, AST is trained and certified in correct landfill disposal procedures.
